The Achacha ...

The Achacha

While I was doing my groceries shopping at Woolies in Town Hall today, I found these little golden fruits in the fruits and veggies section. They are the Achacha!

So... What is Achacha?

Achacha is a traditional New Year fruit in the tropical Amazon Basin of Bolivia. It is nutritious and contains folate, potassium, riboflavin and other important nutrients. And they are now being grown in North Queensland.

The silky white flesh is juicy, tangy and very refreshing. A wonderful summer fruit with loads of flavour. Worth to give it a go; grab some when you see them next time at the supermarkets or farmer’s markets. Happy groceries shopping ~

How to eat an achacha?
1. Pierce with thumbnail or a knife
2. Pop and twist gently
3. Enjoy !
