The Best Thai

It's lunch time ... and it's another lunch gathering with colleagues. We headed down to Victoria St at Darlinghurst for some spicy Asian food. The Best Thai is one of the many Thai restaurants onv Victoria Street, and this is the one that I used to go to in the past quite often.
We started off with satay prawns and satay chicken. Both of the satays were served with a generous serve of satay sauce. Unfortunately, the sauce was not as nutty and aromatic as wat I expect. And both the prawns and chicken were lack of the chargrilled flavour.

For main, we have ordered the duck salad and the chicken pad see ew. The duck sald was full of fresh thai basil leaves, mint leaves, cashew nuts, onions, tomato and meaty duck pieces, and the dressing had a good balance of fish sauce and lime juice. It's light and yummy, perfect dish for lunch. On the other hand, the chicken pad see ew was just average, the rice noodles were broken into little pieces and a bit too sweet for my taste.

It seems like The Best Thai is not as good as before. The quality of food has dropped quite drmatically since my last visit back in a couple of years ago. Hopefully this visit is just an incident.
