W.D.S.Restaurant

It is another late dinner for Herby and I. This is one of the place on my list and always want to give it a go. We got there at around 9.30 pm and it was full of diners. (Good sign :D) As soon as you stepped into the restaurant, you can smell the durian fruit. They use durian fruit for one of their signature dessert. I have been told that their HK style desserts are quite delicious. To share between to of us, we have ordered an iced lemon tea, curry beef brisket with rice and spaghetti bolognaise and followed by two desserts.

Iced Lemon Tea

Curry beef brisket with rice

 Spaghetti bolognaise

The iced lemon tea was icy cold and had a right balance of sweetness and sourness. Unfortunately the two savoury dishes were well below average. The sauce for the curry beef brisket was ok, but the beef itself were very fatty, 1/3 of them are fat which you couldn't eat. The spaghetti bolognaise was definately the worst spaghetti bolognaise I have ever had. The spaghetti was way too soft and out of the whole dish, it only contained less than 1/2 a teaspoon of mince.

Left over ...

Dessert time !!! Because I didn't finish my main, I actually have more space for the sweets. We have ordered the "mango and coconut sago drink" and the "durian with mini glutinous rice balls". The drink was made of fresh mango puree, creamy coconut milk and clear sago pearls. It's deliciously refreshing. The serving of the durian with mini glutinous rice balls was huge. The durian puree was thick, sweet and very full filling. While the chewy glutinous rice balls give the creamy durian puree with some intereting texture.

I would love to go back W.D.S to try more dessert in the future, but no more savoury dishes  for me !!!
