Greenhouse by Joost

Green House by Joost

 "Entrance" and the "Green wall"

The "Greenhouse by Joost" is the latest pop up restaurant in Sydney with a spectular view of opera house and harbour bridge. It is a waste free restaurant designed by Melbourned-based Dutch artist Joost Bakker.(http://greenhousebyjoost.com/joost-bakker/)

It has it's own flour mill for grinding flour, oats are rolled onsite, oragnise waste from the kitchen will be used to fertilize the roof top garden, juices are all freshly squeezed, yoghurt and butter are made fresh, plantation timber cutlery that will be composted after use and drinks are served in glass jars.

I went to the Greenhouse by Joost on a  ranniny Wednesday for morning tea. I ordered a cappuccino, a passionfruit macaron and a donut. The passionfruit macaron was very soggy due to the wet weather. (I think that's because the macarons were left open on the counter bench for quite a while and is was raining all morning)

The donut was very delicious, it was soft and slightly chewy and coated with lots of spicy cinnamon spiced sugar; and served with a tangy mixed berries jam, while the cappuccino is hot and creamy.

Greenhouse by Joost will be staying in Sydney until the 28th March 2011.There is also a roof top bar above the cafe serving drinks.
